Santa Baby

While in New York, my Auntie decided we needed to go to Macy's and check out Santa. My mother claims I have sat on Santa's lap before, but I do not remember it and we have no pictures. We got a lovely one, but god only knows how long it'll take me to scan it.... Never the less, here is our trip to the North Pole to see the Man in Red.

You get on a train that leaves Macy's on 34th.

And you get to see NYC in the distance.

I asked an elf, you can not go to any of these places from this station. This is all so much more reliable than Amtrak.

Once there you are greeted by a terrifying singing tree and several toys that move and are available for purchase.

Not sure what happens on Naughty Street. It looks like a bar.

Care to guess who sponsors this bought of seasonal fun? After the sled you get to see the man himself. I asked for a one bedroom in the village. We will see what happens.

My poor gingerbread house

So, first off, yes, I realize I am long overdue for an update. And, yup, christmas is over whether you count it as one day or 12. It has been a crazy past few months and thankfully things are getting back to normal!

I was given the task of making a gingerbread house. Not as easy as it looks. I could not get the frosting right. Then, since I did not read the directions, I put the roof where the walls should be and vice versa. Since I messed up the frosting, I could take it apart and put it back together several times. But I could not get it to set up either. On the box it looked like a lovely chateau. Mine looked so sad I put the gingerbread man on top as if ready to jump from his nearly condemned abode.

Here is how it is supposed to look. Notice the happy gingerbread homeowners!

You'll notice mine looks a little different, and Gingy, does not seem as proud.

My dad mentioned the gaps and how it would not keep anyone warm.

Whether it was the cold or the humiliation, Gingy jumped. And then got eaten by a cat.
