Jason Wu

He dressed the First Lady, and now he has dressed me. I am sure if you ask Jason Wu they are on the same level of fabulousness. Really. Yesterday, I woke up bright and early for my own kind of Superbowl. An 8:00am arrival to a target 45 minutes away. My mother was not impressed when I woke her up at 7:15 on a Sunday. Just saying. I would not get Missoni'ed again. While the Kitty tote and scarf were not there, I did get the Milu tee and several others. I plan on making more return trips to see what I can find. Just later on in the day.

Cupake Class

I got the pleasure of taking a class with Karen Tack and Allen Richardson, authors of What's New Cupake?, Hello Cupcake! and Cupcakes, Cookies and Pie Oh My! It was my first cooking class at Sur La Table, and a lot of fun. My cupcakes did not quite turn our right, but it was well worth the time :)

This is Glen, the sheep. I named him that. Sadly, his head fell off before class was over. I eventually propped it up on his green meadow cupcake.

Hooker Tranny Shoe

This one might be my favorite. It is called....Pig in the Blanket. He was super easy to do and came out really well. For some reason I forgot to take his picture in class, so here he is about five days old (I really don't plan on eating my cupcakes...more on that later.)

This is the Lady Bug. I tell you this since you can not really figure it out when looking at her. She was odd in class and really odd now. She has eyelashes made of sprinkles (hers have fallen) and a necklace. Not my fave.

As I said class was really fun, but since Karen and Allen (see that I am on a first name basis with them) are food stylists, so they seem to not think about taste as much. All of the cupcakes and frosting are boxed/canned. And some of the combinations are off, like marshmallows and spice drops. But, all of their work is really amazing and superfun. If they come to a Sur La Table near you, run, don't walk!

Yeah, we're Irish.....

My mother's birthday was last week. One may wonder what to get the woman who has everything.... we'll it is a known fact all Irish people love scratchers. So I got her 2o Aces High and a bottle of her favorite hooch. Since she was home sick, my mother was thrilled, and quite frankly high on cough medicine.
