Hugh Acheson's Peach Cake

Here is the second peach cake.   Hugh Acheson (oddly cute for a unibrow) gave an excerpt from his upcoming cookbook A New Turn on the South, to InStyle Magazine.  Since he was one of my favorites from Top Chef Masters I thought I would give it a spin.

It is made on the stove with a cast iron pan, and then transferred to the oven.

The peaches kind of stuck to the top of the pan, so it was not as pretty as it could have been.

Here it is with ice cream.  The general consensus was that my first peach cake was better.  This one tasted like oranges, which were in the caramel sauce that was on top of the peaches.  Also it was dry, but to be honest my mom can't work the oven timer yet.  (She was in charge while I ran out to get the ice cream.)

See kinda sexy with the unibrow... who knew it was even possible.
